Organisers of Historic Winton, the Austin Seven Club Inc, have received information regarding COVID-19 Safe Compliance requirements that must be applied to Historic Winton. This compliance applies to ALL events currently being planned in Victoria.

Event Secretary, Peta Lee said that the Historic Winton Subcommittee is now working hard to assess the feasibility of holding the event in some form on 22nd and 23rd May.

“As we all know, circumstances around COVID-19 change rapidly and we must consider the safety of all involved as well as the costs that COVID-19 Safe Compliance will add to the staging of the event,” Peta said.

“We are putting on our creative thinking caps, and working with stakeholders including Winton Motor Raceway, AASA, governments, HMRAV and others to see if a workable and financially feasible event is possible in 2021.”

The Austin Seven Club intends to keep Historic Winton alive long-term as the largest and most popular race event in Australian historic motorsport.

“COVID-19 will bring about change and we don’t know how long we will have to deal with the pandemic. We are reviewing our traditional set up and considering new ideas to secure its future,” Peta Lee said.

The Austin Seven Club hopes to announce the outcome of its work in the next few weeks.
